my desires look out into the world

and point at that which they tell me i want.

i could entertain them for pleasure.


instead i follow the pointing finger inward,

to get a better look at the one who points.

some times,

amongst the timeless beauty and wisdom of nature,

something deeper within me moves.


my being floods with fear;

it is so much vaster than i could ever be

i am entirely at the whim of its mercy.


but if such is already the case,

what can this small being do

but merge into the vastness?
